A survey of the current situation for the 2021-22 application cycle of the differing “states of play” between Universities in the four UK nations in terms of what help is available to students who have been adopted. It is aimed at students and adoptive parents as a quick guide to the issues with detail by University in the appendices with links.
The increasing use of the term “care experienced” is highlighted as are those Universities who include adoptees within this definition and the offer they provide is identified so far as is possible.
Areas of improvement for Universities across all nations are identified and key pressure points highlighted to improve and standardise the offer for adoptees accessing higher education in all four nations whether adopted domestically or from abroad (but who are British nationals and home students).
This report has been prepared independently but is endorsed by CACH-All , widely regarded as the main support group for post adoption for intercountry adoption in the UK.
